Hazara Telecommunication Region (HTR) mostly comprises hilly areas with high mountain ranges starting in its southern parts. It spreads over 05 districts namely Haripur, Abbottabad, Manshera, Battagram and Kohistan. The first three districts are comparatively more developed in terms of population social infrastructure availability while the later two districts can be termed as lesser developed and remote areas.
The difference in the magnitude of telecommunication services available to the people of different districts gives a very interesting and self-evident profile of the development levels of each area. Out of an approximately 100,000 telephone connections given out by PTCL in HTR, nearly 40% subscribers are from district Abbottabad while Manshera has got around 30% of the overall subscribers. District Haripur has got around 25% leaving only 5% for the rest of the whole two districts of Battagram and Kohistan. It is further interesting to note that out of the 5% connections in the lastly mentioned two districts, the overall percentage of District Kohistan is not more than 0.5%.
This tends to give Hazara Communications (pvt) Ltd a good business opportunity in terms of the fact that growth potential is quite huge in the under-developed areas of the region. Although we intend to utilize access networking in densly populated areas of the region but chances and forseen advantages for usage of wireless local loop cannot also be overlooked.
